Dr. Elmaraghy graduated from the University of Toronto, Faculty of Medicine in 1994, and completed his Orthopaedic Surgery residency there in 2000. After a Clinical Fellowship in Upper Extremity, Hand and Trauma Surgery, he began practice in 2001. He is currently an Associate Professor in the Division of Orthopaedic Surgery.
Dr. Elmaraghy has established a subspecialty practice in Upper Extremity Arthroscopy and Reconstructive Surgery and has been published in a number of peer-reviewed orthopaedic journals on topics related to upper extremity pathology and surgical technique. During medical school and his orthopaedic residency, Dr. Elmaraghy played three years for the Varsity Blue’s Men’s Basketball team and has continued his interest in sports medicine by acting as a consultant to a number of sports teams, including Canada Basketball’s Men’s National Team. Dr. Elmaraghy practices at the St. Joseph’s Health Centre site of University Health Toronto, where he has served in the past as both the Head of the Division of Orthopaedic Surgery, and the Interim Chief of Surgery.
