Please join us for our Division of Orthopaedic Surgery Rounds on January 28th at 0730 hrs.

Our invited speaker, Dr. Scott Paquette, will present a talk entitled “Evolution of Spine Surgical Education in Canada”.

Dr. Scott Paquette is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Division of Neurosurgery at the University of British Columbia and cross appointed to the Orthopedic Department at UBC. He completed medical school at Memorial University in Newfoundland in 1997 followed by a neurosurgical residency at the University of Ottawa finishing in 2003 and followed with a neurotrauma and spine fellowship at Monash University in Melbourne Australia. In 2004 he joined the UBC Combined Neurosurgical and Orthopedic Spine Program. In 2008 he completed his Master’s degree in Adult Education at UBC. He currently serves as the spine representative on both the neurosurgical and orthopaedic resident training committees, is the chair of the UBC Neurosurgical Competency Committee, is the Co-director of the UBC Spine Fellowship Program and is a member of the neurosurgical specialty committee at the Royal College of physicians and surgeons of Canada. He is currently the president of the Canadian Spine Society. Three years ago, he became a member of the Complex in Interventional Pain Program at St. Paul’s Hospital.
