Orthopaedics Position at Joseph Brant Hospital
Join the Department of Surgery at Joseph Brant Hospital (JBH) as a member of the Division of Orthopaedics. Joseph Brant Hospital is a busy community teaching hospital servicing the city of Burlington with a population of 175,000. The Surgery Program performs over 11,000 surgical operations each year. Orthopedics is one component of our comprehensive surgical program including Vascular, Gynaecology, Plastics, Urology, Ophthalmology, Otolaryngology, General Surgery and Dental.
The incumbent will have equitable access to operating room time allocated to the Section of Orthopaedics with an expectation of equitable call responsibilities. Collegiality and the ability to provide an excellent patient experience are essential. Fellowship training upper extremity surgery, including trauma, is required and additional experience in joint arthroplasty (primary and revision) would be an asset.
As a community campus of McMaster University, candidates will be expected to participate in a teaching commitment and to seek an appropriate appointment to McMaster University. Registration with (or eligibility for) the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario and fellowship with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada are required. Established physicians and graduating residents are both encouraged to apply.
