Welcome to Dr. Aaron Gazendam
Dear Colleagues,
Please join me in welcoming Dr. Aaron Gazendam to our faculty as a surgeon-investigator at Mount Sinai Hospital.

Dr. Gazendam completed his medical degree at the University of Toronto before pursuing his orthopaedic surgery residency and a Master of Science in Health Research Methodology at McMaster University. He then returned to Toronto for fellowship training in orthopaedic oncology at Mount Sinai Hospital and the University of Toronto.
Dr. Gazendam’s clinical practice is dedicated to the surgical management of bone and soft-tissue sarcomas and metastatic bone disease. He has expertise in complex limb-salvage surgery, endoprosthetic reconstruction, and minimally invasive fixation techniques. His academic interests focus on improving outcomes for oncology patients through large-scale clinical trials, validation of patient-reported outcome measures, and the integration of digital health technologies into cancer care.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Gazendam enjoys life in Toronto with his wife, Erica, and their young son, James, who keeps them joyfully busy.
Welcome, Aaron, we’re delighted that you have joined our faculty!
All the best,
Peter C. Ferguson MD MSc FRCSC FAOA
