Gallie Day Awards for Ryan Perlus and Jas Chahal
at the recent Gallie Day, I was honoured to present two Departmental awards to members of our division.
Ryan Perlus received the DR Wilson award as the best resident teacher in the Department. This award, which is based on nomination from undergraduate students, signifies the enormous dedication that Ryan gives to education of students, and which has already led to an enhanced profile of our Division in the undergraduate class. As far as I’m aware, Ryan is one of very few PGY-3 residents to have ever received this award.
Jas Chahal was honoured with the Bernie Langer Surgeon-Scientist Award. This award, named for the former chair of our Department, is awarded to a graduate of the Surgeon-Scientist Training Program who shows the greatest promise for a career in academic surgery. Jas is already well on his way, with numerous peer review publications, grants and teaching achievements to his name.
Please join me in congratulating Ryan and Jas on receiving these prestigious awards.
Best regards,
