Job Opportunity: Arthroplasty Surgeon at Michael Garron Hospital

Start Date: July 2025

Michael Garron Hospital (MGH), a community teaching hospital affiliated with the University of Toronto, is seeking a full-time Arthroplasty Surgeon to join our dynamic team. Due to the increasing demand for total joint replacement services, we are expanding our Orthopaedic Surgery division and seeking a highly motivated and skilled individual to contribute to our mission of providing exceptional patient care. The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate exceptional interprofessional and collaborative skills and commitment to advance the strategic goals and vision of the MGH Department of Surgery.

Responsibilities

  • Perform primary and revision total joint arthroplasty procedures.
  • Provide general orthopaedic care, including elective surgeries and urgent/trauma care.
  • Participate in the teaching and mentorship of medical students, residents and clinical fellows.
  • Engage in scholarly activities and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute to the growth and development of our total joint replacement program.
  • Participate in hospital committees and administrative duties as required.

Qualifications

  • MD degree or equivalent and certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Orthopaedic Surgery.
  • Fellowship training in Arthroplasty.
  • Independent license to practice medicine in Ontario.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong commitment to patient-centered care.
  • Demonstrated interest in teaching and research.
