Welcome to Dr. Andrea Chan

The Divisions of Orthopaedic Surgery and Plastic Surgery and the Department of Surgery are pleased to welcome Dr. Andrea Chan who is beginning her practice at Sickkids this month.

Dr. Chan specializes in the management of the full spectrum of upper extremity disorders in children and adolescents. She will expand the existing collaborations between Orthopaedics and Plastics in further developing our upper extremity service.

Dr. Chan’s research interests include Quality Improvement projects across surgery, as well as clinical innovation and outcomes in upper extremity reconstruction.

Her clinical training includes an orthopaedic residency at University of Toronto, and upper extremity fellowships in London, Ontario and Cleveland, Ohio. She completed her MD at University of Toronto, and holds BSc and MA degrees in Forensic Science and Anthropology. She has published a history of pandemic influenza in Canada among numerous scholarly and clinical works. She is appointed as Assistant Professor at University of Toronto. Most recently she has practiced with the upper extremity group at Toronto Western Hospital, where she will continue to work part time.
