West Parry Sound Health Centre (WPSHC) is a highly integrated health care facility situated in northern Ontario along the shores of Georgian Bay. WPSHC serves a unique population of 25,000 permanent residents and over 100,000 seasonal residents. It is situated at the heart of the world’s largest freshwater archipelago and within one of Ontario’s most popular recreational locations. Located in the centre of the Georgian Bay – Mnidoo Gamii – Biosphere, a region of global ecological significance asdesignated by UNESCO, the region offers stunning year-round opportunities for outdoor exploration and enjoyment. With 70 acute care beds and an attached 110-bed long term care facility, WPSHC offers inpatient and outpatient acute care services, including emergency and intensive care, medical/surgical care, maternal/child care, diagnostic and rehabilitation services. Diagnostics on-site include 24/7 access to laboratory and diagnostic imaging (CT, XRAY) as well as echocardiography, and stress testing.

There is strong subspecialist/tertiary support from Health Sciences North (HSN).

The WPSHC Clinical Team is seeking an Orthopedic Surgeon

West Parry Sound Health Centre (WPSHC,) is seeking a full-time orthopaedic surgeon to join our perioperative team. Our orthopaedic program is extreamly well resourced with approx. 260 QBP funded total joint replacement proceedures, exceptional clinical support, state-of-the-art operating theatres and diagnostic facilities. In addition to significant operating room resources, and a turn-key, hospital-based office practice, the successful candidate will have access to our ambulatory care facilities / fracture clinic.

Successful candidates will be certified, or eligible for certification, by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and hold, or be eligible for, licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.

Preferred candidates will bring clinical excellence and teamwork to ensure that WPSHC delivers high quality patient care through a high quality, well resourced and collegial orthopaedic surgical service.

This position includes a very attractive package renumeration package including the Northern Specialists Alternate Payment Plan (NSAPP) and a $105K signing bonus for the Northern Physician Initiative with a Return of Service Agreement. Relocation costs are negotiable Renumeration is OHIP fee-for-servicewith HOCC On-call funding.
