Welcome to Mansur Halai

Dear Colleagues,
Please join me in welcoming Mansur Halai to our faculty in the Division of Orthopaedic Surgery at St. Michael’s Hospital. Dr. Halai joins the Department of Surgery as a Surgeon-Investigator with clinical expertise in foot and ankle surgery and orthopedic trauma.

Mansur was born and raised in Scotland. He attained a Physiology BSc degree at the University of London. He then went on to complete his Medical Degree in Glasgow. His residency included 4 years of Critical Care, with additional visitations to Malawi and South Africa, which fueled his interest in Foot/Ankle deformity and Trauma.  Mansur spent 2 years completing fellowship training in Canada with a year at the University of Toronto Foot and Ankle Fellowship in 2017, followed by the Calgary Trauma Fellowship, finishing in 2019.

Mansur’s research interests include gait analysis and database collaboration. He boasts extensive experience utilizing telemedicine, which he used in Glasgow for 10 years in the form of ‘virtual clinics’.  Surgically, Mansur will cover the spectrum of foot and ankle deformity correction, ortho-plastic trauma and minimally invasive surgery.

Mansur has returned to the Beaches where he, his wife and two sons feel at home in this vibrant city. Outside work, we can find Mansur honing his soccer skills or cycling up the boardwalk.

Mansur would like to add:

“I am sincerely honoured to be working alongside you all, serving the people of Ontario.”

We look forward to Mansur’s accomplishments in the years ahead.

All the best,
